@Jiri Hmm, you could be right. I thought there was a time when ath5k also
supported the card (although not really well), before ath9k was introduced. But
may be, that I'm wrong.
Nevertheless, I'm very impressed with the new kernel from the HEAD repo. It
gives me the best experience I ever had. Suspend/Resume works flawless,
Wireless Connection is really stable and has a great signal strength. All NMIs
have disappeared. And somehow I have the feeling, that the whole system feels
quite more responsive.
@Michael: I really recommend you to test it. I also had the problems directly
after boot up. The wifi than reconnected and worked for some time before the
connection break again. But after some reconnect cycles, it isn't able to
re-initiate the connection. But there isn't such a problem with the new kernel.
Which component does make trouble with standby? The WLAN only? Then just let
the pm remove the module on suspend and reinsert it on resume. Works for me.
And the T60 is a really good model for standby mode. The power consumption in
standby is so low, that I can leave it in this mode for several days. So I only
reboot the system after large updates (Kernel/KDE ...).
