http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=569569 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=569569#c0 Summary: usbfs is not mounted to /proc/bus/usb even if it is turned on in fstab Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sbrabec@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- There is a lot of third party proprietary software, which depends on usbfs (e. g. Canon Pixma ip1000 printer drivers). That is why I changed "noauto" to "defaults" in the following line: usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 and expected that usbfs will be mounted during the boot. But it does not happen. Notes: It was surely working in openSUSE 11.2 in past, but recently (about a week) it does not work. Either there is a race condition, or there was an online update that affected it. Adding "mount /proc/bus/usb 2>/dev/null" to /etc/init.d/boot.local works around this problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
