I look at logs and need few additional information as I found some strange
informations:
1) You have two discs, first one is some kind of raid and second one is simple
partitioned one. What kind of raid it is exactly, it is little strange device
for me, as it looks like raid1 with only one device sda... and it is mdraid
over whole partition? ( does it work without your modification? also metadata
version looks newer then we are using)

2) Why is root (hd1,0) wrong? From logs I see that hd1,0 should be sdb1 which
is separated boot needed for LVM, not? I think that hd0,0 is worse, because we
do not support directly boot from LVM due to its limitations.

So from logs it looks like old kernel has root hd0,0 which is LVM device and it
is roots of problem. If it has hd1,0 (separated boot) all should work. New
kernel get correctly hd1,0 because new kernel is on separated boot /dev/sdb1.
Am I wrong?
