Hmm no, I never had to add the pci id. It worked out of the box with madwifi as
far as I can remember.
Unfortunately I can't tell you the exact kernel version. It has been one of the
kernels from the mentioned repos before I upgraded to 11.2.
Output of your command is:
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5008 Wireless
Network Adapter [168c:0024] (rev 01)
Thanks for the tip with the repository. I will take a test drive of the new
version and report back, if it works with it.
