http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566700 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=566700#c0 Summary: ftdi_sio produces hick-ups Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peter.stark@t-online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5 After upgrading to 11.2 from 11.1 I've discovered that my home automation got "hick-ups", meaning that the USB-device (FHZ1300) connected using the ftdi_sio kernel module, collected events and send them in bursts rather than in time. After tracing and reading kernel blogs, I've found that the ftdi_sio module went through one small change in 2.6.31.9. 1942c1942 < countback = urb->transfer_buffer_length; ---
countback = urb->actual_length;

After compiling the ftdi_sio module, loading it, there are no more hick-ups. Therefore, I ask you to provide this patch in one of your next kernel-updates as I expect other people using the FHZ1300 modules having the same issue. THX in advance.
