--- Comment #13 from Howard Moreland 2009-12-20 05:36:40 UTC ---
I just installed 11.2 with KDE, and resume from suspend does NOT work. It sort
of works sometime. It does not function nearly as well as OpenSuSE 11.1 with
kernel 2.6.27.7-9.1, With the original 11.1 install, Fn+F4 on the laptop
keyboard would suspend to RAM. Fn key would resume system. With all kernels
after that, Fn+F4 did nothing, and the system would never resume.
Now with OpenSuSE 11.2 and kernel 2.6.31.5-01, Fn+F4 still does nothing.
Clicking Kickoff Application Launcher --> Leave --> Suspend to RAM will suspend
the system. There is even a pop-up Notification from Power Management that the
screen is being locked. Less than half the time, pressing Fn key does resume
the system. More frequently, the sleep indicator light goes out, the hard drive
activity light blinks, but the screen stays black. Ctrl+Alt+Bksp gets a beep
from the system speaker. I have to reboot with the left Alt + SysRq + r s e i u
b sequence.
So, things have changed, but certainly are not fixed.
