"if you want a configuration that makes sense use separate zones" is exactly what I also think (see comment #22). Trusted networks should have well separated network interfaces so that those network interfaces can be assigned to the INT zone to have the trusted network well separated from the rest. Anything else is a problematic mix-up of trusted and non-trusted stuff in one same network environment. I will enhance the help text in yast2-scanner accordingly so that users hopefully better understand what they may set up in which particular kind of their network environments. I will not implement support for sophisticated firewall setup in problematic network environments in yast2-scanner.
