Well, the LTSP image seems to set up the network. I see on VT4 that e1000e is
loaded. I will try making an image with that driver as well. I would have
thought that the example pxe image would have had that driver.
Here is my original description of the setup:
I am making a diskless pxe boot image for openSUSE 11.2. I am using
kiwi-3.74-17.21.2.i586
To simplify things (read: eliminate any odd things I might have done), I
used the files
in /usr/share/doc/packages/kiwi/examples/suse-11.2/suse-pxe-client
When I boot this image, it stops saying that it could not load the
network driver. I added kiwidebug=1 to the kernel command, so I get a
prompt. At this time, there are no modules loaded, and only the lo
device exists. I am expecting the e1000 driver to be used, as that is
what openSUSE normally uses in this machine. If I do 'modprobe e1000'
the driver gets loaded. It is using kernel-default, which is what the
example uses.
I am not sure what to do next to see what the problem is. This also
happens with my own kiwi files. But I reverted to the examples to
eliminate my changes. Of course, I did have to set the repository in my
copy of the example.
