I don't have problems with the mouse since I changed values in xorg.conf from:
Section "InputDevice"
# Driver "mouse" will be disabled unless 'Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"'
# is set in "ServerFlags" section.
Driver "mouse"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Option "Buttons" "12"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Name" "Logitech MX-1000 Cordless Mouse Receiver"
Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"
Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
to:
Section "InputDevice"
# Driver "mouse" will be disabled unless 'Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"'
# is set in "ServerFlags" section.
Driver "mouse"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Option "Buttons" "12"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mouse0"
Option "Name" "Logitech MX-1000 Cordless Mouse Receiver"
Option "Protocol" "auto"
Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
I don't know what's the reason for lost functionality of the mouse in default
setting, but in my case it appeared during installation as well as after it...
