one more update at #25 comment#25:

scenario was without any xorg.conf file, when ending X -logverbose with
cltr+alt+backspace i see mtrr error message here as well.

not watching kvm switchport of the opensuse during bios/POST/booting at all,
only later switching to it after is has already booted:


switching kvm switch-port to opensuse 11.2 box: seeing runlevel5 at
1024x768@60Hz graphics screen (situation: without any xorg.conf)

alt+f2, init 3, X -logverbose
produces black screen, but osd shows 1024x768@60Hz, not powersaving mode.
when ending it with ctrl+alt+backspace i get mtrr error message here as well

using minimal xorg.conf with atombios enabled again, not watching kvm
switch-ort while opensuse 11.2 box is bios/POST/booting. only switching kvm
there after boot process finished:

runlevel5 is reached, kde logon screen visible at 1024x768@60Hz initially.
alt+f2, init3, still using minimal xorg.conf with atombios enabled, X
-logverbose produces black screen but osd shows 1024x768@60Hz, no visible
pixels.

any more information needed? what can i do next for this bug? i can try the
other mainboard for the other bug with this harddisk (11.2 installed) soon as
well.
