You're back to openSUSE 11.1, right? Unfortunately this doesn't work without
xorg.conf yet. :-( There you need a minimal /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Section "Device"
Identifier "radeonhd"
Driver "radeonhd"
#Option "UseAtomBIOS" "1"
