http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557583 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557583#c0 Summary: Switching keyboard layouts in X11 with evdev does not work Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jack@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=328837) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=328837) Xorg.0.log I've been trying for quite some time to configure multiple keyboard layouts for keyboard detected dynamically via evdev. So I've edited "/etc/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/11-keymap.fdi" and added there lines: <merge key="input.xkb.layout" type="string">us,cz</merge> <merge key="input.xkb.options" type="string">grp:alt-shift-toggle</merge> But it didn't seem to change anything. Although in /var/log/Xorg.0.log, I can see lines like: (II) config/hal: Adding input device AT Translated Set 2 keyboard (**) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: always reports core events (**) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Device: "/dev/input/event0" (II) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Found keys (II) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Configuring as keyboard (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "AT Translated Set 2 keyboard" (type: KEYBOARD) (**) Option "xkb_rules" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_model" "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_layout" "us,cz" (**) Option "xkb_options" "grp:alt-shift-toggle" (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/compiled/server-F2DC8F531FE339752D8568B25A5746E511813D8A.xkm Which would suggest that keyboard switching should be enabled, nothing really happens. BTW: When I uncomment "AutoAddDevices" "off" in xorg.conf, everything starts working OK, so I have a workaround... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
