http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557601 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557601#c0 Summary: Cannot change caps lock settings in X11 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jpschewe@mtu.net QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 I'm using XFCE as my desktop. Under 11.1 I was able to change the caps key to be a control using SaX. This option has been removed due to bug 483554. However XFCE appears to have no controls to remap the keyboard. I've tried changing /etc/X11/xorg.conf as well to add Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps" And that seems to be ignored. Why was this global config removed? Not all of us want to run GNOME or KDE due to memory limitations.
