It seems we get the wired ethernet items in this list in the wrong order.
I have two ethernet adaptors:
$ ip link list
1: lo: mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: eth0: mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP
qlen 100
link/ether 00:16:41:52:ef:ba brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: irda0: <NOARP> mtu 2048 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN qlen 8
link/irda 5e:b6:4b:9e brd ff:ff:ff:ff
4: eth1: mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state
DOWN qlen 1000
link/ether 00:50:b6:00:1d:e0 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
5: wmaster0: mtu 0 qdisc pfifo_fast state UNKNOWN qlen 1000
link/ieee802.11 00:13:02:3a:ba:ad brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
6: wlan0: mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP
qlen 1000
link/ether 00:13:02:3a:ba:ad brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
7: pan0: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN
link/ether ba:d1:98:02:df:7a brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
eth1 is the USB ASIX device with no cable plugged, yet the photo of the dialog
shows both eth0 and eth1 both under the built-in wired connection [ of which
there is clearly only one ;-].
I would expect them to be separated, and the eth1 device at the top marked
'disabled'.
HTH.
