http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=554010 Summary: knetworkmanager malfunctioning Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ruchir.brahmbhatt@ecosmob.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091014 SUSE/3.5.4-143.1 Firefox/3.5.4 I'm not too sure which component is culprit but I think knetworkmanager. Today when I booted my laptop, internet didn't work. I did some diagnostics and found out that I can ping gateway but none of the external ip or domains. I can't ping isp dns server also. After lots of analysis, I found that default route was missing. When I type route command, I don't see default route. I added manually using "route add default gw 192.168.1.1" and then it started working. I have to do this every time and it doesn't assign default gateway automatically.
