http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551727
Summary: Xorg keycode changes
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.2
Version: RC 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Release Notes
AssignedTo: ke@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: suse-beta@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: coolo@xxxxxxxxxx
CC: sndirsch@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer
The X-server has changed some keycodes since openSUSE 11.1. This will hit users
that upgrade from a previous openSUSE release and have a .Xmodmap.
For details, see bug 539135.
You can find a list of changed keycodes here:
http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/upgrade-veraendert-keycodes/#post-1673668
AFAIK the list is not complete (the start of the page contains some more
changed keycodes for the cursor keys). Also the link is probably not really
suitable for the openSUSE release notes ;-)
Proposed text for the release notes (unless Stefan writes a better one):
== X.org keycode changes ==
Some X.org keycodes have changed compared to openSUSE 11.1. If you are using a
Xmodmap file, you might have to change some keycodes. See http://... for a
list of new keycodes or use xev to find out the new keycodes.
You can switch back to the old keycodes by adding
Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"
in the "ServerFlags" of your xorg.conf.
@Stefan: is this text correct?
