http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551649 Summary: KDE4 does not play .wav files properly Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: wamrfixit@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 When I try to use a .wav file for a desktop sound, it plays the first half-second of the file, then stops. This has happened in all versions of KDE4 that I can recall. To test this, open the Configure Desktop tool, go to General (tab), Notifications, then try test-playing any of the default K3B sounds. The KDE4 soundsystem plays .ogg files perfectly, but when you select a .wav file, it has problems. This happens on a clean install, and even after installing the Packman version of libxine and the other codecs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run K3B 2. Select - Settings -> Configure K3B 3. Under Notifications, try to play any of the default sounds. Actual Results: Sound plays for approximately ½ second then stops Expected Results: Sound should play completely I use K3B as an example, but this effects the entire KDE4 desktop. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
