Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mario_c@bluebottle.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=324974) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=324974) hal-mtab error message User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 After inserting a cd/dvd into the dvdrom drive, I'm not able to eject the tray by pressing the eject button on the drive. I'm using Gnome 2.28 installed from the openSuse 11.2 RC2 live cd. At the moment of inserting the cd/dvd, nautilus is able to mount the drive and browse it. If I do a right click on the cdrom icon, I can select the "eject" option from the menu and the tray opens. Unmounting from the same menu and then pressing the eject button on the tray also works. Pressing the eject button does not show any error messages in the desktop or by running dmesg, but typing the command gnome-mount -e --device=/dev/sr0 raise an error message: Cannot eject volume There was an error ejecting the volume or drive. org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.UnknownFailure: Cannot open /media/.hal-mtab Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. lshal -m Start monitoring devicelist: ------------------------------------------------- 00:54:56.012: storage_model_DVDRAM_GSA_T50N condition EjectPressed = uname -a Linux linux-bk38 2.6.31.5-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux Acer Aspire 4530 AMD Athlon X2 QL-62 DVDROM GSA T50N NVIDIA Chipset -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
