http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550554 Summary: Send Document as E-mail - Hampered by missing setting for an email app (KDE 4) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: r.seete@gmail.com QAContact: kyu@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.3; Linux) KHTML/4.3.1 (like Gecko) SUSE Default configuration of OpenOffice.org has a button called "Document As E-Mail". Unfortunately, the e-mail client is not set in OpenOffice.org by default (in KDE4) which results in the following error message: "OpenOffice.org was unable to find a working e-mail configuration. Pleae save this document locally instead and attach it from within your e-mail client." This problem does not exist in GNOME unless it has been added to a KDE install. If GNOME is installed first then OO.o will open an Evolution composer window with attachment. However, if KDE is added to a GNOME install...OO.o will display the error message in KDE but function properly in GNOME. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install KDE4 desktop from DVD 2. Open OpenOffice.org Writer 3. Select "Send Document as E-mail" from File menu or click icon in Standard Toolbar Actual Results: Error message as described above is displayed. Expected Results: Open a KMail composer window with the document attached. Entering "kmail" in the URI box under Tools->Options->Internet->E-mail fixes the issue for a user. New users may not know to type "kmail" even if they find the setting. Unfortunately entering "kontact" still results in an error message. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
