http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=547969 Summary: Yast2 package manager does not display updated packages when different vendor Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bugzilla@go4more.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-3.2 Firefox/3.5.3 There seems to have been a change in the way Yast2 handles newer package versions: I use the openSUSE Factory repo and a few more repos, both from OBS and external (Packman, different KDE4 repos and so on). All repos have priority 99, the default setting. In former Yast versions, if there was an updated version of any package in any repository available, this was marked with blue text. I could simply make "update if newer version available" and all was good, no matter whether OBS, openSUSE or Packman provided the newer version. This is no longer the case: Seemingly, Yast2 only displays and updates newer packages if from the same vendor. If another vendor provides an updated package, you can only find out this when clicking to the version details and explicitly clicking on the other version. I also tried giving different repository priorities. This does not work! All repos are always at priority 99, no matter what I configure with Yast. This feature seems to be non-existent. I hope this is a bug, not a feature, as it makes keeping a up-to-date-system with different package sources completely unusable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Starting Yast2 software manager. Actual Results: Updated packages are only visible if from the same vendor Expected Results: All updated packages should be visible, no matter from what repo. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
