The problem seems to have something with modules: usbserial and option. After removal of those modules, connection is established properly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Reboot system 2.Insert modem - there's no connection 3.modprobe -r option 4.modprobe -r usbserial 5.
