02-start.sh:    . $root_dir/etc/sysconfig/kernel
02-start.sh:    . $root_dir/etc/sysconfig/kernel
31-lvm2.sh:     cp -a /etc/sysconfig/lvm $tmp_mnt/etc/sysconfig

Without a directory sysconfig ...
