http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=545590 Summary: Pressing Ctrl+alt+backspace once kills x, instead of twice as in 11.1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 8 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-1.3 Firefox/3.5.3 In 11.1 one had to press the combination Ctrl+alt+backspace twice to kill X-server. However in 11.2 pressing Ctrl+alt+backspace once achieves the same effect. The method of 11.2 is somewhat more risky as somebody accidentally pressing this combination will have his x-server killed. It might be, therefore, better to revert to the 11.1 route which was safer in my opinion. Also it will prevent unnecessary changes for users of 11.1 who are already accustomed to the process of hitting the combination twice when required. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace from a gnome/kde/other desktop. 2. 3. Actual Results: X-server killed and you are back to login screen. Expected Results: As in 11.1 one should be required to hit the button combination twice. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
