I want to change the optional kernal command line parameter splash=silent to splash=0. I started Yast2-Bootloader, i selected the entry for openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 6 - 2.6.31-r6-3 and clicked the 'Edit'-Button. I modified the text in the input box below 'Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter': splash=silent to splash=0 I hited the ENTER key or clicked on the 'OK'-Button, but the modified text was not applied. If I use the the other Yast2-Bootloader editor for direct editing the /boot/grub/menu.lst file, I can change the parameter successfuly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Yast2-Bootloader 2. Select openSUSE entry and start editing. 3. Change text in input box for 'Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter' 4. Klick OK-Button or hit ENTER key.Editing the entry for 'Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter' is not working. 5. Check for modification by reediting the openSUSE entry. Actual Results: Editing the entry for 'Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter' seems not to work. Direct editing of /boot/grub/menu.lst required.
