Summary: xfce4-panel-plugin-sensors has unnecessary dependency
on gnome-panel
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE.org
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: 3rd party software
AssignedTo: prusnak@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: sjones@xxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---
With recent builds of the Xfce panel plugins, xfce4-panel-plugin-sensors has
somehow developed a dependency on libpanel-applet-2.so.0, which is provided by
gnome-panel. This unfortunately, for me, means that I would end up installing
parts of Gnome that I have so far been successful in keeping off my system.
The only Xfce plugin that I'm aware of that actually has a dependency on
gnome-panel is xfce4-panel-plugin-xfapplet, which allows one to use Gnome panel
applets in Xfce's panel. No other plugin does.
Checking the .spec file, I suspect that it is because gnome-panel-devel is
listed in the main BuildRequires: section, as opposed to adding it for
xfce4-panel-plugin-xfapplet only.
