http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=532631 Summary: start session dbus for all window managers Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: wolfgang@rosenauer.org QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer I'm running WindowMaker but in some rare cases it would be important to have a session dbus running there as well. For 11.1 this is not the case as WindowMaker doesn't do it. I've checked what Fedora does and they have a script in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d which calls dbus-launch for the session. I've tried the same but then again I needed to change the xinitrc as well as the script has to set environment variables and I needed to source the scripts instead of just calling them. The script in Fedora is just: if [ -z "$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" ]; then eval `dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session` fi The problem is that I'm not sure if that works together with our concept to start the session dbus for KDE and Gnome (and Xfce?). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
