http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=522916 Summary: WebBench reported error when using PV network for Windows 2003 sp2 (x86) VM. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SLES 11 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: jdouglas@novell.com ReportedBy: zhiteng.huang@intel.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=305731) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=305731) WebBench error User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.12) Gecko/2009070611 Firefox/3.0.12 One Windows 2003 sp2 (x86) VM configured with 2vCPU, 1.5GB memory runs IIS services. Another native system uses WebBench client to simulate multiple users access WWW service served by Windows 2003 VM. WebBench client reports '10054' error once in a while and the error appears more frequently when running same workload on multiple Windows 2003 VM simultaneously. According to MSDN, Windows socket error code 10054 means 'connection reset by peer'. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms740668(VS.85).aspx) We tried to find out why 10054 error happened. We did saw something unusual -periodical peak in bandwidth & packets - when using 'netperf' to do TCP_STREAM (to measure bandwidth) and TCP_RR (to measure latency) test. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup a Windows 2003 x86 sp2 VM with IIS service and a native client running WebBench Controller & Client. We here configure Windows 2003 VM with 2 vCPU and 1.5GB memory. 2. Installed SLES 11 VMDP onto Windows 2003 VM. 3. Deploy WebBench contents (webpages/scripts) to Windows 2003 VM and configure IIS. 4. Start WebBench Client & Controller to run the workload. Actual Results: The '10054' error will appear on client console soon and keep happening. Expected Results: There should be no error at all. The WebBench package is quite big. So if needed, I can provide it via other way together with detailed WebBench setup steps. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
