This does indeed not work but there is no easy way to fix it. The firmware
you've installed has API version 2 but iwl3945 from 11.1 does only support API
version 1.

So, you could either update your kernel in order to use the newer ucode or
downgrade back to the ucode shipped with 11.1 (although this ucode has still a
few bugs).

Hence, closing as invalid.
