Ok, I'll close as invalid then. I know it's not technically fixed since you
changed your video setting - but I wonder if 10.3 booted with different color
depth in the splash screen and that's what's causing it.

Or it could just be that the driver needs some work. Can you reproduce with a
kernel-vanilla from Factory and post a bug report at bugzilla.kernel.org?
