http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504271 Summary: kdebase4 should contain some files for /usr/share/locale/en_US Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: koersen@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.22pre) Gecko/20081213 SUSE/2.0.0.21post-0.1 Firefox/2.0.0.22pre The kdebase4 package should contain the file /usr/share/locale/en_US/entry.desktop and probably also the directory /usr/share/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES and its contents. In the Regional & Language System settings there is no entry for "US English". This means that after installing Dutch locale (e.g. to be able to perform spell checking in Dutch) it is impossible to switch back to English as the language for KDE by moving the US Englis entry back to the top. It is not possible to delete Dutch to get back to US English because it's impossible to delete the last entry from the screen. I thought this was a KDE4 bug but yesterday I found out that KDE4 on Ubuntu 9.4 does have a US English entry. Copying the files from /opt/kde3/share/locale/en_US directory to /usr/share/locale/en_US makes the entry appear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Perform a fresh install of 11.2 Milestone 1 (or any openSUSE version and install KDE4.X) Actual Results: The list in Regional and Language system settings is empty Expected Results: The list should contain US Enlish, the current language setting, like it did in KDE 3.5 on openSUSE Adding the files to the kdebase4 package would solve this problem -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
