http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504062 Summary: GNOME: Mount/unmount in GNOME data-browser Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: esddss@freenet.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008103100 SUSE/3.0.4-4.7 Firefox/3.0.4 In the data-browser you can only mount and unmount drives or disks or floppy correctly with the menupoint 'site' (in German 'Orte') on the left side of the data-browser. If you choose the menupoint 'tree' (in German 'Baum'), only unmounting is possible. I did following experiment: I open the data-browser (first window for any operation like copy a data ...) and choose the menupoint 'tree'. I plug in an USB-stick, a second window will opened with his dates. I unmount now the USB-stick and 'forget' to close his window (it's now empty). In the first window you see always the entry of the USB-stick (xxx MB Medium) under menupoint 'tree'. But you are not able to mount the USB-stick at this point, otherwise you get an alert! If you plug in the USB-stick again, you see a second (the same!)entry under menupoint 'tree' (and a new window), but only one entry you can use (You can repeat this some times with the same results!). This confused the user! This entry must disappear or be disabled (like in menupoint 'site', in German 'Orte')! If you close all windows, this entries disappears correctly. You see it if you open the data-browser again. I recommend to close the next(second) window automatically by unmounting a drive or disk, and that you are able to do the same operations in menupoint 'site' and 'tree'. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.If you choose the menupoint 'tree' (in German 'Baum'), only unmounting is possible. 2.I open the data-browser (first window for any operation like copy a data ...) and choose the menupoint 'tree'. 3.Plug in an USB-stick unmount without closing his window. Plug in the USB-stick again.Look at entry under menupoint 'tree'. Actual Results: Look at details! Expected Results: I recommend to close the next(second) window automatically by unmounting a drive or disk, and that you are able to do the same operations in menupoint 'site' and 'tree'. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
