Please provide more information:

1. What laptop is this?
2. Does it do a suspend to ram (the fast one) or a suspend to disk (the slow
one)?
3. What have you set in the gnome-power-manager preferences regarding "when
battery power iscritically low"
4. Do you have autosuspend activated? (Slider "Put computer to sleep when
inactive for:...")
4. lshal output directly before plugging the power cord (yes, I know that can
be quite complicated without the problem being reproducible every time)
5. lshal out after waking up.
