http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=502572 Summary: DOSbox installed onto KDE menu does not get $home as working/launch directory Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: roland@logikalsolutions.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.64 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; en) Presto/2.1.1 If you install DOSbox, it gets an entry on the KDE menu. If you run DOSbox from this entry, the configuration does not fill in any value for the launch directory. When you run CONFIG -writeconf abc.conf it completes successfully, but sends the output to the bit bucket. Launch DOSbox from the command line in a terminal, and you will find the output written to the directory you launched from. This is an installation bug. The menu entry should be using $home for the user as the launch directory. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open KDE menu, type DOS in the search bar 2.Click on DOSbox entry 3.type CONFIG -writeconf abc.conf Actual Results: No error message received. 4. Open a terminal window and do a find across your entire system for abc.conf, it won't be found. Expected Results: abc.conf should have been written to $home or some other user writeable directory. 5. Use same terminal window and switch back to home directory. 6. Launch DOSbox from terminal 7. type CONFIG -writeconf abc.conf 8. You can now find the file. This is going to cause a lot of spastic problems with applications. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
