I own a Sony Vaio VGN-SR39XN laptop.
When I try to load the sony-laptop module provided with the kernel, I get the
following message :
$ dmesg | grep sony
sony-laptop: Sony Notebook Control Driver v0.6.
sony-laptop: brightness ignored, must be controlled by ACPI video driver
And indeed, brightness control with FN keys doesn't work.
It seems that this commit is supposed to fix this regression :
commit 95c5e1f1e6e1788cc8b9acbe9379ae395ef64958
