Summary: SMB/CIFS grub install dialog doesn't escape a special
character
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.2
Version: Milestone 1
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: greg.riedesel@xxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer

If you select the SMB/CIFS installation method on the initial grub screen, and
if the password contains a bang(!), the installer will be unable to load the
install environment.

However, the text-mode installer does not suffer from this.

The text after the bang in the password shows up before the hostname/IP-address
in the text-mode SMB/CIFS installer. This is the password entered at the grub
screen.
