0. Can you open Konqueror and fill in the Address line with "sysinfo:"
and write down ALL the info on your Processor. This information will appear
down the bottom right corner of the URL= sysinfo:
1. Print this bug out and then re-start your PC and enter BIOS by hitting DEL
on the Keyboard.
2. Go to the Advanced>Jumper Free>On the top line, or near the top will be a
setting for <CPU Over-Clocking> = ? Write on paper what the setting is =
3.Hit "ESC" and select "Advanced>CPU> Down the bottom of the page will be
"Cool 'N' Quiet" = ? Write on paper what the setting =
4. Hit ESC two times. You will see the Question "Disguard Changes"
5. Hit "Enter" OR Y for "Yes"
6. You PC will restart.
7. Open this bug back up and fill in from paper
CPU Overclocking =
Cool 'n' Quiet =
sysinfo: = AMD ?????????????(tm) ???? ????-Core Processor
Speed:??????????? MHz
Cores: ?
8. After you fill in the above you please go back into BIOS and change
Advanced>CPU>Cool 'n' Quiet to be "Enabled" and save changes.
If you do not feel o.k about changing BIOS, ask for help. If you change this
setting to be "Enabled" you will NEVER damage you PC Again and it will NOT
cause any more trouble using Linux.
Thank You Very Much - If this is all too hard/difficult - it is o.k - Scott
ATTN: Suse.DE. Babak MUST be running a separate PCI Video + Sound Card. The
ASUS AM2 motherboard has NO facility for on-board sound and Video and must
contain either a PCI or PCIE Sound and Video Card.
