Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: zoltan@levardy.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) hi there, i am trying to install 11.1 opensuse. The installer is unable to add boot loader for linux. (I had very similar issues by upgrading to 10.3, and finally my windows xp was not loadable => therefore reinstall entire laptop. really sucks. I was hoping it has been fixed than). System: thinkpad z61m (core2 due T7200, ati x1400) /dev/sda partitions as was worked until v10.3: - sda1: NTFS - sda2: FAT - IBM's ThinkVantage Recovery Partition - sda3: 1kilobyte only (parent of extended partitions?) --- extended ones --- - sda5: linux 82 swap 2G - sda6: linux 83 ext3 10G - sda7: NTFS - used for sharing data between systems. Sympthoms: - on 10.3 upgrade made unable to boot (neither XP nor Linux) - on 11.1 installation from scratch. The bootloader not installed, wanted a floppy disk and there was an OK button only, clicked on it, no error, no boot. I hope this time installer will not F*** up my windows, because i need to work somehow... thx a lot, Zoltan Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. make partitions like mine 2. exec boot DVD on thinkpad 3. try to write bootloader. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
