https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=487656 Summary: YaST2 doesn't save the options in the register "Hardware" of the Network Card Setup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mkluth@web.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009022800 SUSE/3.0.7-1.1.6 Firefox/3.0.7 I use a computer with an intel® onboard NIC called "82562V-2 10/100 Network Connection". During the setup of openSUSE 11.1 this NIC was associated with the driver/module "e1000e" automatically. All seems to be fine (in the /var/log/boot.msg and /var/log/messages), but often the network connection doesn't work after the booting of the computer regulary. So I must do "rmmod e1000e; modprobe e1000e InterruptThrottleRate=3000,3000,3000", before a ping-request into my network or the internet works correctly. I've tried to enter the option "InterruptThrottleRate=3000,3000,3000" into the "options"-field of the Network Card Setup of the YaST2-interface; but this string isn't saved by YaST2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start the "Network Settings" within the YaST2-Controlcenter. 2. Click on "Edit" within the register "Overview". 3. Enter "InterruptThrottleRate=3000,3000,3000" into the field "options" (after the Module Name). 4. Leaving the "Network Card Setup" by clicking "Next" and "OK". 5. Start the "Network Settings" within the YaST2-Controlcenter again and look into the field "options"...
