It does the same thing. The keyboard is locked and I can't do anything with
it. I have to use ssh from another computer to reboot or hit the power switch.
Also, I have been remotely using XDMCP the way I described for years. It
works fine 11.0 to 11.0. So, requiring the use of that X -query command,
instead of the method I described indicates a problem in itself. I should be
able to use the method I described and in fact, if you can't have a desktop
running, then you wouldn't be able to connect remotely to multiple systems, as
I have often done.
