The argument is basically this. Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, etc all ship a usable
mozjs library. There is a webkit plugin, so you are not forced to use mozjs.
I'm not going to accept any patches to libproxy which drastically changes our
plugin architecture (increasing the size of our intentionally small core) when
you can just use webkit.
If you want to statically compile the mozjs plugin only, that's fine.
Misguided, but fine. But don't statically compile into the libproxy core. The
better choice than static compilation would be to just ship the webkit plugin.
I don't understand why, when numerous other projects are turning to javascript
these days, mozilla can't just provide a stable javascript library. This would
be to their advantage.
