I can't confirm - it works as expected on my side.
1 - are you running NetworkManager? (grep "^NETWORKMANAGER"
/etc/sysconfig/network/config)
2 - it's not written, or it doesn't work? Check
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth* files
And please attach ifcfg-ethX file and YaST log
