Note:
- as OpenSuse 11. came out, I installed the system, and after overcoming
several Problems, it finally run almost perfectly. Then came the big crash, as
OpenSuse.org changed to the new NVIDIA driver Version 180.22-4.1, which is
declared as not completely tested on the NVIDIA site. I had to install the
entire System a new, and was not able to set the proper resolution of 1400-1050
again. Such things should not happen!. How can I revert to the old driver now,
without having to know all insides of the system!
Right now I'm working with a system that hangs every once in while (init 3,
sax2 -r -m 0=nv, seams not enough to remove the new driver definitely). Maybe I
should uninstall the driver G02 through the Yast package manager, but I'm
afraid, that afterwards nothing runs anymore, and don't know how to activate
the non-proprietary driver outside the graphic environment. But even being able
to do that, would not be a satisfactory solution, since that driver only
permits me to set the resolution to 1280x1024 instead of 1400x1050.
