https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475850 Summary: wrong sha1sum of yast2-trans-en_US.rpm when using netinstaller iso from february 13th Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: unspecified Platform: i386 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: abittner@stud.fh-heilbronn.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) messing with 11.2 (factory) and using openSUSE-Factory-NET-i586-Build0016-Media.iso from http://download.opensuse.org/factory/iso/openSUSE-Factory-NET-i586-Build0016... (february 13th, 14:33, 81megs). booting from this cd, then letting it download/install via http. i have checked the http (proxy) logs and it always fails at this file: yast2-trans-en_US.rpm the installer of 11.2 falls back into this oldschool textmode part and tells that sha1sum of that file is bad. i has loaded this file from two different servers by now (mirrorbrain download balancer) and the file is not accepted by the installer. 1234558290.001 27 192.168.178.30 TCP_MISS/302 832 GET http://download.opensu se.org/factory/repo/oss/boot/i386/yast2-trans-en_US.rpm - DIRECT/195.135.221.130 text/html 1234558290.257 255 192.168.178.30 TCP_MISS/200 26721 GET http://ftp4.gwdg.de/ pub/opensuse/factory/repo/oss/boot/i386/yast2-trans-en_US.rpm - DIRECT/134.76.12 4 application/x-rpm the files that the installer loaded before didnt fail the sha1check. alt+f3 on the 11.2 installer screen says the same. sha1 check failed. the file it downloaded before was branding. all the files up til that checked normal. also a big problem: i was first trying this with usb-keyboard / usb-mice only. and during the whole time i only see the opensuse logo screen and the progress bar, but dont see any hints and cant press any keys, up til the textmode screen appears and there i still cant type anything (ok, cancel textmode buttons) as the usb keyboard doesnt yet seem to be working. i think opensuse used to have some versions where various usb devices such as keyboard were acitvated early. at least i know other linux distros where usb keyboard can be used very early during the boot stage. with recent opensuse 11.1 and these alphas this seems to be more and more of a problem. please bring back early usb keyboard access. thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use net-inst iso installer for factory 2. see sha1 checksum fail on above package 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
