CPUs are idle, no disk IO, nothing. Just load. This is a problem for me, for I am developing server systems that read the load value and act differently upon it, so it would be terrific if the load value would be correct again. Prior to the upgrade everything worked fine. I read somewhere it might be connectedto the nvivia drivers I use, so if that is the case, here's some info: nt468:~ # lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation E7525 Memory Controller Hub (rev 09) 00:00.1 Class ff00: Intel Corporation E7525/E7520 Error Reporting Registers (rev 09) 00:02.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation E7525/E7520/E7320 PCI Express Port A (rev 09) 00:03.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation E7525/E7520/E7320 PCI Express Port A1 (rev 09) 00:04.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation E7525/E7520 PCI Express Port B (rev 09) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 02) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 02) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 02) 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 02) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 02) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev c2) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 02) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) IDE Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801EB (ICH5) SATA Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) SMBus Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev02) 01:00.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 6700PXH PCI Express-to-PCI Bridge A 01:00.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 6700PXH PCI Express-to-PCI Bridge B 03:0e.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82545GM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 04) 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G70GL [Quadro FX 4500] (rev a1) nt468:~ # lsmod Module Size Used by iptable_filter 3400 0 ip_tables 19464 1 iptable_filter x_tables 23376 1 ip_tables snd_pcm_oss 48896 0 snd_mixer_oss 16808 1 snd_pcm_oss snd_seq 61968 0 snd_seq_device 8604 1 snd_seq nls_utf8 2160 0 nls_iso8859_15 5928 0 cifs 260232 0 af_packet 20728 0 dm_crypt 14320 0 crypto_blkcipher 19372 1 dm_crypt fuse 61088 5 loop 17924 0 dm_mod 73952 1 dm_crypt snd_intel8x0 35296 4 snd_ac97_codec 122648 1 snd_intel8x0 ac97_bus 2232 1 snd_ac97_codec snd_pcm 95440 3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec snd_timer 26664 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm snd 74632 16 snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer soundcore 8816 1 snd e1000 128364 0 ppdev 8208 0 snd_page_alloc 9816 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm nvidia 8140768 36 i2c_i801 12836 0 iTCO_wdt 13040 0 e752x_edac 15448 0 pcspkr 3064 0 parport_pc 40392 0 rtc_cmos 13960 0 shpchp 32244 0 button 8328 0 i2c_core 35280 2 nvidia,i2c_i801 edac_core 47720 3 e752x_edac iTCO_vendor_support 4268 1 iTCO_wdt serio_raw 6412 0 sr_mod 16196 0 cdrom 36200 1 sr_mod parport 41568 2 ppdev,parport_pc dcdbas 10984 0 rtc_core 22420 1 rtc_cmos rtc_lib 3560 1 rtc_core pci_hotplug 31864 1 shpchp floppy 63240 0 sg 35344 0 usbhid 52896 0 hid 41568 1 usbhid ff_memless 8912 1 usbhid sd_mod 35064 4 crc_t10dif 2152 1 sd_mod ehci_hcd 55348 0 uhci_hcd 27928 0 usbcore 198656 4 usbhid,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd edd 10272 0 ext3 141912 1 mbcache 10412 1 ext3 jbd 68824 1 ext3 fan 6016 0 ide_pci_generic 4652 0 piix 7424 0 ide_core 118012 2 ide_pci_generic,piix ata_generic 6044 0 ata_piix 21628 3 libata 183376 2 ata_generic,ata_piix scsi_mod 179144 4 sr_mod,sg,sd_mod,libata dock 14564 1 libata thermal 24232 0 processor 49904 1 thermal thermal_sys 14336 3 fan,thermal,processor hwmon 4040 1 thermal_sys nt468:~ # top top - 17:22:58 up 7:14, 1 user, load average: 5.28, 5.25, 5.31 Tasks: 168 total, 1 running, 167 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 4.4%us, 1.0%sy, 0.2%ni, 93.1%id, 1.1%wa, 0.1%hi, 0.1%si, 0.0%st Mem: 3085168k total, 2596436k used, 488732k free, 170648k buffers Swap: 8032492k total, 24k used, 8032468k free, 1474180k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 1 root 20 0 1064 384 324 S 0 0.0 0:01.60 init 2 root 15 -5 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 kthreadd 3 root RT -5 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 migration/0 4 root 15 -5 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:01.06 ksoftirqd/0 5 root RT -5 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 migration/1 ..
