Very funny. I described exactly what I did. For example, I've defined
Meta+arrow keys to navigate between virtual KDE desktops (where Meta is
assigned
to the Win key). All these settings are lost temporarily.
I suspect that sax2 loads the Xorg modules without user settings, and aborting
sax2 doesn't reset them; only an explicit write action to save the
configuration
reactivates my keyboard shortcuts. However, this is a wild guess since I know
nothing about the Xorg or KDE internals. So I repeat my question: What can
I do to help debug the problem? I've meanwhile upgraded to KDE 4.2, but the
problem persists. I'm going to upgrade to the latest Xorg version right now
(as provided in the openSuSE repositories) since some programs are working far
slower than with openSuSE 10.2 which I had used before. Maybe this helps.
