https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471746 Summary: no sound on Dell Optiplex 755 (driver snd-hda-intel) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: george@grwelch.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 I have a Dell Optiplex 755. With OpenSUSE 10.3, sound works perfectly. The driver is snd-hda-intel (ICH9). With OpenSUSE 11.1, there is no sound. Yast and lsmod report that the driver is snd-hda-intel as before. I never tried 10.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Get a Dell Optiplex 755 2. Install OpenSUSE 11.1 3. Find that there is no sound. Actual Results: There is no sound. Sound works fine with 10.3. Expected Results: This is a standard and well known sound card. Sound should have worked. It should not have stopped when changing from 10.3 to 11.1. I am not sure what information would be useful. I can give output of lsmod, lspci, etc., to anyone interested. Just email me and I will respond. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
