Happened again on openSUSE 11.1 x86_64, only a few days after switch from Open
Source drivers to proprieraty drivers:
x11-video-nvidiaG01-173.14.15-2.1
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default-173.14.15_2.6.27.7_9.1-2.1
When querying xgamma before performing the work-around above, it reports:
-> Red 1.000, Green 1.000, Blue 1.000
It implies, that the bug is caused by X, not the application.
It may be a problem of driver, but it may be a problem of X itself, as the
original comment mentions "nv" driver, now it happens with driver "nvidia".
