Summary says it all: after opening files in kate, closing kate and starting
kate, the recent files list is empty. It only shows the recent files for the
current session. Also filed at bugs.kde.org
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123958) but they refuse to acknowledge
the problem. I've been having this in 4.1.3 but also in previous versions and
in 4.2.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start kate
2. open a file
3. save/close the file
4. close kate
5. start kate
6. check the recent files submenu under 'File'
Actual Results:  
list of recent files is empty

Expected Results:  
list of recent files contain recent files
