I couldn’t reproduce the problem on my normal workstation
because I had the FZSongTi.rpm package installed.
When this package is installed, -*-gbk-0 fonts are available.
If -*-gbk-0 fonts are *not* available, the startup takes long.
Apparently scim looks for -*-gbk-0 fonts.
I wonder why, I don’t think they are really needed because
- we are running in a UTF-8 locale anyway
- scim uses GTK to display the preedit strings, I cannot
see X11 core fonts used by scim at all.
