http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=551841 gives some interesting
information about this.
It looks to me that hal-lock should be used by the installer. See the man for
hal-lock -- it even gives an example for a partition table editor. So I'll move
this to the yast team.
I can backport the gnome-mount patch in the upstream bug if we need to lock
devices that are in /etc/fstab too. Just tell me if it's needed.
